01-26 final

In Gilbert the silos shimmer during dusk,
cottontail bunnies bounce quietly at the Riparian.
The Four Peaks protrude amid the Mazatzal Mountains.
Their peaks look like dazzling diamonds in sunshine.
It reminds me of the jewels at Versailles
encased all around the palace.
Sapphires, pearls, red rubies like drops of blood
that could not go unseen.
But in Gilbert fields are fading out
and sunsets are fiery.
